About the event
The Arizona Winds caps its 50th (Golden) Anniversary season on Sunday, June 1, 2025, with a unique program featuring theme songs from eleven iconic television shows from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. Colonel Shelton plans to involve the audience in a little fun with this concert—a bit of “name that tune” as the band plays just several notes from each TV show and gives the audience an opportunity to guess which TV show it’s from. To make it more challenging, the theme songs won’t be listed in the program! As soon as the audience guesses the correct name of the show, the band will play the entire TV theme.
The second half of the program will honor America’s defenders of freedom in a Memorial Day tribute to our men and women in uniform. Music will include John Philip Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever, John Williams’ Hymn to the Fallen (from the Spielberg movie "Saving Private Ryan"), Battle Hymn of the Republic, Fantasy on a Theme by Sousa, America the Beautiful, and a Salute to the Armed Forces.
All concerts are free and open to the public. Concerts start at 4:00 p.m. and doors open at 3:00.
