Here are some interesting facts about the Arizona Winds you probably didn’t know, but might have been curious about:

 

● Church services precede our Sunday performances at the Vista Center. Last year, the 

church added a third morning service which has pushed our start time an hour later to 4:00.

We are now mandated by Vista Center management with just a one hour set up time starting at 3:00.

Please pardon our rush, and we’re very sorry for the later concert time!

● The Vista Center for the Arts charges the Arizona Winds nearly $16,000 per year to present our five concerts.

​

● The band’s annual operating expenses, including auditorium rental, average in excess of $30,000 per year.

​

● There are no paid musicians in the Arizona Winds. In fact, each band member pays an annual membership fee to participate!

​

● The band rehearses for two hours every Tuesday evening from August-May. 

​

● Band members represent a wide variety of professions including doctors, scientists, teachers, engineers, college professors and retirees.

​

● Some of our musicians have been members of the Arizona Winds for over 30 years!

Because the Arizona Winds does not charge admission to our concerts, or receive funding from other sources other than program advertising, your generous contributions are the life-blood of our program! You are helping us pay for facility rentals, insurance, program printing, music and musical instrument purchases, accounting fees, advertising and much more!
