The Arizona Winds proudly concludes its 2025-2026 season with American Tapestry: Portraits of a Nation, a stirring concert celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. This special concert features iconic compositions reflecting the nation’s triumphs, struggles, and enduring spirit. The program opens with John Williams’ Liberty Fanfare, setting the tone for an afternoon of reflection and celebration, followed by his energetic and adventurous Cowboys Overture and the quintessential Americana themes of Aaron Copland’s A Copland Portrait. A highlight of the concert is A Lincoln Portrait, featuring narration by John Sipple, bringing to life the immortal words of Abraham Lincoln. Following intermission, the band honors America’s resilience with Ron Nelson’s Rocky Point Holiday, John Philip Sousa’s Liberty Bell March, and Jerry Bilik’s American Civil War Fantasy, evoking the struggles and triumphs of a defining era.
